A previously little-known hacker claims to have gained access to the Trump Hotels email database. The published sample data indicates an extensive collection of guest communications.
On Tuesday, a user named “FutureSeeker” claimed on the hacking platform BreachForums to have obtained more than 160,000 data records from the systems of TrumpHotels.com. The sample data published so far apparently comes from the hotel chain’s email notification system, which is responsible for reservation confirmations and reminders.
Scope of the compromised data
According to the malware researchers at vx-underground (via Cybernews), the data set contains a total of 164,910 entries from the period January 2018 to January 2025. The published sample contains names of guests, email addresses, creation dates of entries and timestamps of communication. As far as we know, particularly sensitive data such as credit card information, specific dates of stay or check-in times are not part of the leak.
Motivation unclear
The experts at vx-underground suspect that the action is not a politically or financially motivated attack. Rather, the timing – shortly after the US presidential inauguration – suggests that the hacker probably wanted to demonstrate his technical skills and make a name for himself in the scene.
The attacker himself, who has only been active on BreachForums since August, has not yet commented on his motives. The publication was made with the terse comment: “Hello BreachForums community, today I have uploaded the Trump Hotel invitations for you to download, thanks for reading and have fun!”
The Trump Organization has not yet commented on the current incident.
