As can be seen from numerous reports on the Downdetector fault platform, thousands of users are currently struggling with outages in Microsoft’s cloud services. The Outlook email service and Microsoft 365 applications are particularly affected.
What is known so far
According to Downdetector, over 26,000 fault reports have been registered since Saturday afternoon. The problems appear to be far-reaching: Users are reporting significant functional restrictions on social networks such as X. Many are unable to access their emails, load their calendars or open other Microsoft 365 applications such as PowerPoint.
The mobile Outlook app for smartphones also appears to be affected by the malfunctions and is not working as usual.
Microsoft has not yet commented publicly on the outages. No official information is yet available about the cause and the expected duration of the outage.
