The website for take-offs and landings is no longer working. A pro-Russian group is probably behind the attack.
A hacker attack has been carried out on the two airports in the Italian financial and business metropolis of Milan. The website on which take-offs and landings can be tracked was no longer available. According to the airport company, flight operations continued as normal. A pro-Russian hacker group called Noname057 claimed responsibility for the attack.
The two airports in Milan – Linate and Malpensa (officially renamed Silvio Berlusconi Airport a few months ago) – are among the most important hubs in Italy. The Italian authority for protection against cybercrime also became involved in the investigation. In a message on Telegram, the hacker group described the action as a “well-deserved response to Italy’s Russia-haters”.
Several other Italian websites, including the homepage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also affected by hacker attacks, according to a report by the Ansa news agency.
