Forcepoint has signed an agreement to acquire Getvisibility, a provider of AI-powered solutions for Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Detection & Response (DDR).
These will improve organizations’ ability to identify and mitigate data risks and will complement the Forcepoint Data Security Everywhere platform. In this way, companies can further simplify their security management, better address risks and meet compliance requirements more quickly, it is said.
The two companies are already linked by a multi-year partnership. The acquisition now allows Getvisibility’s DSPM and DDR capabilities to be more deeply integrated into the Forcepoint architecture to seamlessly detect, classify, prioritize, monitor and protect sensitive information such as personal data and intellectual property in hybrid IT environments and modern AI infrastructures.
DSPM and AI mesh technology as core components
Getvisibility’s DSPM and AI Mesh technology – a network of specialized AI models for highly accurate and fast data classification and risk detection – has been a core component of Forcepoint solutions for more than two years. It provides companies with visibility and insights into data-related risks such as redundant and outdated data, unauthorized access, misplaced files and legal risks. The AI-powered DDR capabilities automate the classification of data and are the basis for dynamic actions to proactively address threats before compliance and security breaches occur. Their deeper integration now enables comprehensive data security that continuously adapts to how users access, share and interact with data across devices, cloud applications and GenAI platforms.
Enhanced data security for new technologies thanks to AI
Forcepoint ‘s Data Security Everywhere approach unifies security policies across AI tools, websites, endpoints, email, SaaS applications and custom environments. The deeper integration of Getvisibility’s DSPM and DDR capabilities provides organizations with the following benefits:
- Proactive visibility of risks: The continuous detection and classification of sensitive data in SaaS applications, clouds and on-premises environments helps companies to detect, assess and eliminate risks at an early stage.
- Real-time threat defense: Automatic enforcement of security policies across CASB, Web Security and Enterprise DLP ensures reliable real-time threat defense.
- Adaptive security controls: AI ensures that policies are dynamically adapted to the risk in order to adequately protect sensitive data – for example in AI platforms such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Copilot and Gemini, but also in enterprise applications.
