The automotive supplier is selling its business with security systems such as surveillance cameras and alarm systems. Thousands of employees worldwide are affected by the move.
The technology group Bosch is selling its security systems business, such as surveillance cameras and alarm systems, to the financial investor Triton. This was announced by the company in Gerlingen near Stuttgart. Around 4,300 associates at more than 90 locations worldwide are affected by the move.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The division is headquartered in Neuperlach near Munich.
The business comprises the three product areas of video systems, access control systems and intrusion detection systems as well as communication systems and thus the entire product business of Bosch Building Technologies available for sale.
Bosch had already announced its plans in October last year and then began looking for a buyer. Bosch manager Christian Fischer said that Triton had presented a convincing growth strategy for the business and, as an investor, could offer a high level of industry expertise and many years of experience in the further development of comparable companies.
A Bosch spokesperson declined to say how many jobs are affected by the sale in Germany. Triton has undertaken to comply with the transfer agreement concluded as part of the sale, which provides for certain working conditions for associates.
The division to be sold had generated sales of more than one billion euros in 2023, according to a Bosch spokesperson. In future, the technology group intends to focus the Building Technologies division on the regional system integration business with solutions and services for building security, energy efficiency and building automation. The aim is to become a leading global provider of system integration.
