Stranded passengers, services that cannot be reached. A number of computer systems in the Netherlands are disrupted. The cause is still completely unclear.

All air traffic at Eindhoven Airport was suspended on Wednesday due to a network malfunction. This was announced by the management of the second largest airport in the Netherlands on Platform X and on the airport’s website. A spokesperson said that intensive work was underway to find a solution.

No disruptions were reported from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. According to local media reports, airlines are trying to take passengers from Eindhoven to Düsseldorf Airport, among other places, so that they can travel from there.

According to the ANP news agency, several government services – including the coast guard and the Dutch gendarmerie, which is responsible for border protection, among other things – also reported computer failures. It was initially unclear whether there was a connection to the problems at Eindhoven Airport. According to ANP, the nationwide communication system of the emergency services was also disrupted, but the emergency number 112 was intact.
