The short message service X (formerly Twitter) has been experiencing massive disruptions since this morning, leading to outages worldwide. Numerous users can no longer log into their accounts and are therefore unable to publish or view posts.
Users are shown the message “Something went wrong, try reloading” on the website and in the app. The fault monitoring platform Downdetector registered more than 22,000 fault reports in the USA. In the UK the figure was above 9,000.
Evasive maneuvers to competitor platforms
It is worth noting that many X users are now switching to the competitor platform Threads, Facebook and Bluesky to discuss the disruption. The alternatives are likely to benefit from this outage, at least in the short term.
