The short message service X (formerly Twitter) once again recorded significant outages on March 30, 2025. According to the incident reporting portal DownDetector, several hundred thousands were received from affected users.

Users are currently reporting difficulties loading content, login problems and delays in the delivery of messages. Despite the widespread disruptions, some tweets about the outage were paradoxically able to appear and be distributed on the platform itself.

Second failure within a short space of time

As recently as March 11, the platform was struggling with massive technical problems. In a post at the time, platform owner Elon Musk spoke of a “massive cyber attack” as the cause and hinted at an extensive, coordinated action. Shortly afterwards, the people suspected of being responsible for the attack came forward.

The exact reasons for the current outage are still unclear. So far, X has not officially commented on the causes of today’s disruption.

The X platform, which has been restructured several times since the takeover by Elon Musk, has already had to contend with various technical challenges in the past.
