Fujitsu will operate its server and storage division in Europe under the name “Fsas Technologies – A Fujitsu Company” in future. The name change will come into effect on April 1, 2025, as announced at a partner meeting in Mainz. The role of the German branch of the company will also change.
The renaming is part of the restructuring that has been ongoing for some time. Fujitsu had already given up its end device business in Europe last year – a decision that initiated the strategic focus on the data center business. As part of the new organization, the German site will become the largest European unit and will act as the central holding company for the other European companies. However, the other national companies are not to lose their independence.
The organizational realignment also promises to enhance the position of the German subsidiary within the Group as a whole. With the establishment of Fsas Technologies as a European holding company, the communication channels to the Japanese group headquarters could be significantly shortened. This may enable the German management to exert a more direct influence on strategic Group decisions in future, particularly with regard to the orientation of the product and service portfolio.
