Entrust announces the expansion of its portfolio: The Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform will integrate identity verification and identity and access management into a single solution to combat deepfakes, phishing, account takeover attacks and other threats.
This is made possible by the recent acquisition of Onfido.
Urgent need for new solutions
In 2023, Onfido recorded an increase of 3000 deepfake attempts. The latest data from its Identity Fraud Report also show that digital forgeries accounted for 34.8% of document fraud detected by Onfido in the last six months – almost double the 16.7% in 2023 (and around 12 times as much as in 2021). These figures underline the urgent need for new, future-proof solutions for identity verification.
By extending its Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform with Onfido’s AI-powered document and biometric verification, Entrust enables a significantly increased level of security in the authentication of identities. The IDaaS platform will be equipped with an additional security layer that resists identity fraud and phishing, secures digital interactions and protects sensitive information.
