Hackers were able to execute malicious code
Researchers from IT security company ESET have uncovered a serious security vulnerability (CVE-2025-24983) in older versions of Windows. The vulnerability allowed hackers to execute malicious code on affected computers using a zero-day exploit.
Windows App takes over
Microsoft is pulling the plug on its Remote Desktop app: from May 27, 2025, the application will no longer be supported and will disappear from the Microsoft Store. The Windows app, which has been available since September 2024 and enables users to access services such as Windows 365, Azure
Project MAI
Microsoft is apparently working on in-house AI reasoning models that will compete directly with OpenAI products. As the US tech portal “The Information” reports, citing a person familiar with the initiative, the company is considering offering these models to developers in the future.
Breakthrough?
Microsoft has unveiled a new quantum computer chip. According to the company, the chip, known as Majorana 1, is based on a new type of material called Topoconductor, which uses a previously unknown state of matter – neither solid nor liquid or gaseous, but a topological state.
AWS was against it
Microsoft has become a new member of CISPE (Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers of Europe) – the very association that recently took legal action against the company’s licensing practices. However, the decision to admit the 39th member was not well received everywhere.
Office Apps
Microsoft is stepping up the pressure on Windows 10 users: from October 2025, Microsoft 365 applications will no longer be officially supported under the discontinued operating system. The software company is therefore urging users to switch to Windows 11.
